Rising Sun Over St Paul's
I think St Paul's is a very attractive church and it has been on my mind for a while to paint it. I wanted to capture the early morning sun on a frosty morning so as soon as the conditions were right I took a walk to the church in January to get some reference photos and I wasn't disappointed. It was crisp and bright and as the sun rose it hit the church window beautifully and I knew I had to capture that in the painting. My walk to the church took me through Cantley Park where I was accompanied by a very friendly robin so I painted him sitting on one of the gravestones. As soon as I got home the weather changed dramatically to grey and miserable so I feel I witnessed...and hopefully captured...a very magical part of the day.
